Autant j’aime des films comme “The Witch” (Eggers), “Midsommar” (Aster) et son ancêtre “The Wicker Man” (Hardy), bref la “folk horror”, autant il faut reconnaître que son frisson d’angoisse part d’une vision très inspirée du christianisme.
Dans “The Devil’s Bath” en revanche (cf. pouet précédent) l’angoisse vient de la société paysanne d’une part, du christianisme d’autre part. Un point de vue très différent.

Il ne s'agit pas ici de « folk horror » : ni surnaturel, ni épouvante, juste un drame historique, un film en costumes pas chez les aristos mais chez les paysans autrichiens en 1750. Ceux-ci sont des taiseux, le récit se fait moins par les dialogues que par l'image, et les images sont *magnifiques.* Vu hier et c'est mon petit coup de coeur ❤️, profitez-en tant que c'est en salles.
