X's Portland Data Center Fire

As of Saturday, May 24, 2025, the fire at X's data center in Hillsboro, Oregon, has been contained, and no injuries were reported. The fire, which broke out on Thursday, May 22, was caused by a room of batteries and resulted in a significant outage for X users globally. The company has acknowledged the outage and stated that the team is actively working to remediate the issue.
