But the twitter abyss kept growing... and growing ... and growing... So this last long-in it was hard to even FIND the academic things I wanted to see, even once I started searching for specific accounts. The nasties in the threads overwhelmed the content

Seeing that horrible black cross instead of the little blue bird was the last straw for me. I decided to check out Mastodon again. I find it a little tricky to use but the vibe is better than that big black cross! I'm expecting more will leave and come here or to Threads. But why support another profit-driven social media mogul when there are community-focused outfits like this?

Note: I’ve deleted the Alberniweather Twitter account permanently. All social media is now through Mastodon and the Fediverse.

My Twitter archive going back to 2011 was 5GB. I thought it would be bigger than that but maybe that’s a man thing. lol. Oh, and that’s it. The Twitter places ChrisaleCanada and Alberniweather are no longer.

In the last 24 hours I moved from a house I've lived in just short of 20 years. Whew, what a mad, intense time, so stressful and so relieved now it's done. In that same time period my Twitter account is supposed to have permanently died, having closed it a month ago. New times! #housemove #twittergone

Not some biz dev team at Twitter, Elon Musk's personal "family office" (i.e. the ppl he hires to manage his $). He's offering shares of Twitter for $54.20.

And he sold $3.6B of Tesla shares earlier this week.
