UPDATE: Someone checked and my account is indeed GONE!

I deleted my Twitter account on December 2. There is supposedly a thirty-day waiting period during which I can reactivate it by logging in, but it ought to be really gone now.

If anyone still has an active Twitter account and would take a minute to check, I would appreciate it.

HEAVY SIGH!

After much agonizing and nostalgia I have just deactivated my Twitter account.

Meant to do it by the end of November, but got caught up in finding a few more tweeps who have also migrated to Mastodon. But it is done! Fourteen years and a few odd months with that little blue bird. I'll miss it, but as many of you know it hasn't been the same for a long time (even before Musk).

I have 30 days to change my mind, but having made that Big Click I doubt I will.

That's my only reaction to any story about the website formerly known as #Twitter. It was a cesspool at it's peak, but Musk has only dug a bigger and cessier pool under the first one.

And I've never seen any evidence that Elon has learning anything from any of his mistakes. He's just been lucky enough to keep failing sideways or even upwards.

But let's see if he can eat all of a $40-billion loss now!

Mastodon is getting to be as good as Twitter was. Not there yet, but getting closer and closer. RMP is coming up on the 1 year anniversary of being a #TwitterQuitter. RMP closed our account and never operated a Twitter account since the company was sold in October of 2022.
