To the Teaneck Community and all friends of the movement for Palestine.

We want to highlight the police response to community members speaking out against the "Israeli" real estate event in Teaneck, New Jersey; a vile show of settler audacity as they shamelessly market occupied Palestinian land to New Jersey residents during an ongoing genocide in which the death count is nearing 36,000. Police have been knocking door to door on Teaneck homes, especially in neighborhoods surrounding Congregation Keter Torah, to inform community members that they will be closing down roads and setting up checkpoints on Sunday. They will not let cars pass or park in neighboring roads unless IDs are shown to confirm they are local residents. The parallels between the moves of Teaneck and New Jersey PD and the IOF cannot be more clearly highlighted. Fascism has no place in our neighborhood.

Part 2 of 3.

Consider how the people living in communities in the West Bank feel. The lOF has a long history of not just knocking doors, removing families from homes, and setting up checkpoints in neighborhoods; but in bulldozing and demolishing homes as well, often with families still inside. Olive trees are cut down for new settler pavement. Children, mothers, and fathers don't always make it back home through checkpoints when lOF soldiers are given free rein to bully and beat them; and home becomes a word violently threatened by Zionist settlers.

This town is hosting a direct market for massive settler violence. And Teaneck police are operating with the same patterns as the lOF. Documenting and publicizing police response to our community's resistance to genocidal complicity is gravely important. We will not be deterred and we will not let their cowardly actions continue in the quiet or the dark.

This temporary disruption you may face on March 10th will never compare to what Palestinians in the West Bank experience daily, but it is always worth noting the continued behavioral parallels of police in our local areas and the IOF. Checkpoints in Teaneck? Get angry. Stay enraged. Come out on Sunday if you believe that genocidal markets, Zionist fascism and police repression have no place in our town or anywhere the movement lives.

They came knocking on my door to inform me that my street will be closed. Then I called to let them know that I have a private event and expecting friends and family over on Sunday and the police department told me that my guest are not allowed in my block- and not allowed to park in my driveway. And after I put up a fight stating it's my property I pay taxes for the officer on the line cuts me off and 'transfers' me to a line that hung up on me.

Her attitude and actions were intentionally trying to shut me down. The behavior of Teaneck police department is appalling to say the least.
