Successfully recapped my Spectrum48k. Trying out some tape games now. #zxpectrum #spectrum48k #retrocomputing

Tried some demos on "The Spectrum" and, while the most popular one on pouët.net doesn't quite run properly[*], "Sandstorm" (2017) runs nicely.

It's a simple demo as far as content goes, but still funny.

Had something I always wanted as a kid arrive the other week; Remember Cheetah's 'CHARACTERISTICKS?' There was a Terminator head one, a Batman one, Bart Simpson, and this, the Alien 3 licensed xenomorph joystick!

They popped up on Gamesmaster a time or two, and my partner spotted one cheap on eBay that had never been used and had been bought in '94 as an ornament and snagged it for me!

They released it for 8 and 16-bit consoles and home computers; this is the Mega Drive version and isn't as horrible to use as I expected. But I'm treating it gently all the same and it's more of a curio.

All four photos are a Cheetah 125 joystick that's had its usual joystick grippy bit swapped out for one shaped like an Aliens xenomorph standing upright. There's a trigger in its chest.
