@dch ugh, clienthello doesn’t fit in one packet anymore? Sounds like the whole internet is about to get slower and less reliable. Me, i’d put this back on the encryption people to fit their stuff into the space they have, not on the servers.

@franksting It’s been a couple years, but I really liked it. Not as good as his Culture books, but better than his other novels. The tech firm that makes a female executive marry a king so that they get a country’s votes in the UN seemed so realistic I don’t know why it didn’t already happen.

Everyone in your home assistant family gets the same automation when scanning the same tag! Ok, i get it; guess one of these raspberry pi’s is going to become a Home Assistant

Second lesson: In iOS Shortcuts app, you can use Automation > NFC to make particular tags kick off Shortcuts scripts. This how people do the stuff with sticker tags by the front door to scan as they get home or leave or whatever.

First lesson: Turns out the only data type the iphone actually supports from an NFC card is a URL. Course your url can just point at a vcard or whatever… but iOS shows the domain first, so hosting vcard on drive.google.com is lame.

Bought some NFC cards for no particular reason. Messing around with NFC Tools to program them and Shortcuts to make them kick off scripts. Good ideas wanted! #nfc #Hacking
