It's not about whether you personally want to or need to drive. It’s about understanding the simple truth that in cities, if everyone tries to move by car, no one moves much at all. So the more of us that are enticed to walk, bike & take transit, the better it is for EVERYONE.

To my great delight, I just learned there are two geographers in the current season of the Great Canadian Baking Show.

Had a good talk with my first grader about why we can't play Wordle today. What's a strike, a picket line, what's a union, why workers don't get paid enough. Never too young to learn!

The NewsGuild members at the #nyt are going on strike for 24 hours at midnight tonight, and they said:

“We’re asking readers to not engage in any #NYTimes platforms tomorrow and stand with us on the digital picket line! Read local news. Listen to public radio. Pull out a cookbook. Break your #Wordle streak.”

I’ll be sacrificing my #NYTCrossword streak to the cause of solidarity.

DON’T CROSS THE DIGITAL PICKET LINE!

E-cars get subsidized. Why not e-bikes?
Now they can be!

Oregon USA Legislature is considering a bill to generously subsidize #ebike (up to $1200) and #eCargoBike purchases (up to $1700)

In the PNW? Your voice needed now! Call or email Reps in areas you live, work, and play to say yes to good #TransportationEquity #ClimateChange legislation.

@enobacon I just found this out when buying a tiny 12" bike for my 2 year old! Maybe this buys him some better bike infrastructure by the time he's old enough to ride on the streets?

Interesting legal geography story in the NYT-

"Across America, 15 million acres of state and federal land lies surrounded by private land, with no legal entry by road or trail. Most can be found scattered across the West, moated by ranches and corporate holdings. Such “landlocked land,” if it were one contiguous piece, would form the largest national park in the country, an area nearly the size of Vermont, New Hampshire and Connecticut."

Just putting it out into the universe that I am still open to academic and industry positions :)

My research, broadly, explores the intersection of bodies and society, specifically the ways that bodies are treated in response to social norms and experiences. Some topics I have published on include sexual and self-objectification, eating disorders and body image, and feminist activism.

I am a mixed-methods researcher with a strong qualitative background. Love teaching, mentoring, & service!

What do you do if you end up with more data than can fit in your dissertation (or book or article)?

My latest on how knowing which kind of story you're writing can help you figure out which pieces to publish first and what to do with the leftover bits.
