We'd get more folks #teaching in #highered open to rubrics if we just said "share the criteria you'll assess students on. I think there are two reasons why:

1.Building out a traditional grid rubric is a lot of groundwork. A list of criteria and their relative weights is a smaller lift and better than nothing!

2. We're fighting against an unspoken bias against things done in K-12 ed. ::eye roll::

@AlliFlowers @edutooters no, that doesn’t capture what’s coming up in my workshops on active learning in large classes. Examples: I’ve had instructors raise concerns about implementing group activities if a student/s have hearing impairments. Or assigning minute papers at the end of a class when a student needs accommodations for more time.

I’ve started noticing a trend in my active learning in #highered workshops: concerns about making these activities accessible to folks with physical disabilities, neurodivergance, and learning disabilities. Anyone written on the topic? #AcademicChatter #facdev #accessibility @edutooters
