I always use microtype package https://ctan.org/pkg/microtype with LaTeX, and I've told the students and post-docs in the group to always use it. Still it happens way too often that when reading a paper in progress, I see ugly typography within two first pages, and it's always because they did not use microtype, and adding microtype fixes the typography

At SCIMABIO-Interface we design & install #RFID antennas, perform & are involved in projects to monitor #FishBehaviour & #Movements with PIT-tags or acoustic tags, use our knowledge in #DataAnalysis to facilitate the percolation of scientific knowledge towards fish managers. ππ‘
