Help custodians, caretakers, foodservice workers, transespeople, and library, classroom and lab technicians at Queen's #University in #Kingston, #Ontario get a fair contract before their Feb. 3 deadline:
Saw this over on BlueSky. A simple protest game someone made for folks in #Ontario. How long can you last without #bikelanes?
I got doored after 38 seconds.

Bigger, faster roads with no protections for pedestrians or cyclists. This is the foundation of Doug Ford's re-election campaign. And stories like this, which are certainly not anomalies, are the result of such policies.
@PapyrusBrigade Thanks. Looks like the link broke when I copied and pasted it.
Ontarians: Please call or email your MPP and encourage them to support Bill 222, the Heat Stress Act, introduced today by MPP Peter Tabuns. This is an important change to the OHSA, particularly as
becomes more acute.

Newly released list of 34 proposals for #Ontario Place redevelopment reveals for the first time what the Ford government passed over to give the contract to an Austrian multinational. These include three local spa companies, some theme park developers (including a proposal that would have preserved the unique architecture) and First Nations.
Story includes info from documents obtained by NDP, who are calling for investigation into Therme receiving special treatment.

Don't worry Furey lost.
No results yet, but still liking seeing "Anthony Furey: 0%"
I feel like I'm the only person sitting and watching the election results tonight.
@NYTGuildTech I've cancelled my subscription and let the Times know I won't be back until there's a fair offer that ends the strike.
Are they seriously refusing just cause termination language?!?
We are on ULP strike. We gave #NYTimes management months of notice of our strike deadline, we made ourselves available around the clock, but the company has decided that our members arenโt worth enough to agree to a fair contract and stop committing unfair labor practices.

Just a note to my #Wordle and #OldGal mutuals. I just learned that the NYT Tech Guild is on strike and theyโre requesting people not play NYT games until the strike is settled. I will not be playing In solidarity and I wonโt comment on otherโs scores either.
