And dialogue is my Achilles heel. A very high heel…=)
My first drafts are walls of text with almost zero dialogue. At most you'll find thing like "after the massacre they talked about the events of the day as if it were the most normal thing in the world", and lots of details about the world they live on…=)
#WritersCoffeeClub #Writing 08 Do you agree with Michael Moorcock, who said: "Ignore all proffered rules and create your own, suitable for what you want to say"?
Yep. But first you must learn the rules, that aren't that bad sometimes. As Picasso (supposedly) said:
Learn the Rules Like a Pro, So You Can Break Them Like an Artist.
I like the interpretation of Moorcock's words as "Take whatever works (of my process) for you"
=)
This is sooooo nice. A collection of the #ShortStories of #Saki - with annotations - has just been made available in #OpenAccess in the #OapenLibrary . Go check it out.
