Anthropologists and climate researchers in Western institutions are increasingly turning to Indigenous people to ask what they have observed about the world around them.
In the process, these scientists are learning that Indigenous communities have been cataloging, in their own way, data about change at a hyper-local level — insights that Westernized climate science might miss — and also how that change is affecting people.

In this context I’m talking about the word in its positive meaning, it can be tech, board games, movies, etc. It’s usually if you are a problem solver, a thinker, a techie.

When I gave my husband the green light to bring him home from the shelter, I was imagining sweet lazy pittie, not the Rhodes Scholar of dogs.

Nothing prettier in the avian world, imho, than seeing a Great Egret in flight or preparing to land. There’s just something about those ethereal, angel-like wings spread open wide that makes me think of what a real, heavenly angel must look like.
