Your piece caught my eye because of Benn wondering whether Google has manipulated some of the content of it's search results for the anti-abortion lobby. Attached is the card for the film "Love for a Proper Stranger". The basic plot description is ok but the tone of the description is weird and doesn't gel at all with my memory of the film.

I saw them around the "Talk Talk Talk" phase. To be fair the venue's acoustics defeated most bands (it was an old boxing hall in Brisbane). The only band to nail it was Peter Tosh and Burning Spear - but their mixing desk looked like it had been ripped out of a studio.

The shift from truth to true doesn't hold for me. Despite the strident efforts of the logicians,
there's a difference in the weight and tone of those words. Your epigram evoked a comment on the Stoics - that the true and the false are not opposites, the false is what makes it impossible to distinguish the true.

There's certainly true vs false as paced out by the logicians, in which the terms are reduced to a table of attributes. But the true also evokes an ambiguous, abrupt and overwhelming experience and (riffing off Weltschmerz) one which at times has the modality of disappointment.
