The teen has put fake blood on their face for a TikTok halloween video.

It has stained their skin and they are bright pink.

I am trying so hard not to laugh at them while they scrub their face in vain 😆

I see people complain about London public transport and I want to say that after spending a few days there, I'm not sure that they appreciate just how good that system is compared to what we have up North.

The fact everything is so integrated, that it tracks your journey and caps your fares, that it includes all public transport, it's honestly brilliant.

If we had a system like that up here I'd happily use it instead of my car.

I officially love London.

Spent two nights there and what an incredible place.

History round every corner, amazing food, so easy to get around.

Not even been home an hour and I want to go back.

After everyone here was so incredibly helpful with advice about my teen learning to play #violin I thought it was only fair to give an update.

We loaned a guitar from a friend and the teacher has said it's great to get started with.

They're absolutely loving it and the teacher is very impressed with how quick they're picking it up.

I'm still amazed by how helpful everyone was, thank you for all of the advice and tips. You're the best.

@justafrog @sentient_water @breadandcircuses I know there are probably die-hard vegans who will probably come for me for saying this, but THIS is what we need. Yes, okay, long-term it would be great if everyone stopped eating animals but the all-or-nothing approach I think puts a lot of people off.

If it was less about being pure, and more about people just trying their best, I think it would actually make a much bigger impact.

The world feels bloody awful right now.

I have nothing useful to add to the discourse, all I can do is bear witness to the atrocities taking place.

It doesn't feel like enough but then I remind myself that the people suffering are sharing their stories for a reason and hearing their story matters. Amplifying their voices matters.

We can't turn away. We need to pay attention now more than ever.

I don't need to leave the house tomorrow. At all.

I plan to stay in my PJs, drink coffee, order cake to the house, play a bit of guitar and then read a book.

I'm tucked up in bed right now excited to get up tomorrow.

Was having a bad morning. Teen stepped in dog poop, they didn't realise, got in my car and trod it into the carpet.

The smell was ungodly!

I cheered myself up with an impulse purchase. Walking past a stall in the local shopping centre I stopped and said "what smells like Lush?"

So now I'm the proud owner of an ultrasonic diffuser and oil that smells like Lush at Christmas (Snow Fairy).

My car might smell terrible but my house doesn't 😆 (I have cleaned the car, smell is lingering 🤢)

@MsHearthWitch I think that's a good way to do it. In previous years I've been really hard on myself if I've fallen behind.

@KitMuse Possibly. I have ADHD so having an outline to follow tends to help me stay on track and not go off piste.

I will definitely need to do some research for it.

Considering doing #NaNoWriMo next month.

I have an idea for something to write but I'll have to get all of the research, plotting and planning done in the next 2 weeks and that feels like *A Lot* to do.

So any other #Writers planning to do NaNo? Could do with some encouragement 🫣

@jspc haha, it did sound odd but I looked it up and it looks brilliant. My teen has no interest in doing the tourist attractions, they just asked me to find the best bookshops.

@jspc I have shown it to my teen and they really want to go. It seems pretty easy to get to from the hotel as well 😊

There's one coffee shop in every town which is better than all the others, but nobody agrees on which coffee shop that is.

Took the teen book shopping and stopped in my favourite and treated myself to this amazing apple, cinnamon crunch pie.

The coffee was as good as it always is. It's definitely the best coffee shop in town 😉

Looks like I'm going to be in London for a couple of days next month.

Slightly nervous, haven't been there in 20 years and I am not a city person 😬

Teen is very excited and wants me to research bookshops to visit.
