Leavitt changed astronomy. She figured out new ways to measure a star’s distance from Earth & her work helped determine the universe is expanding.

Her boss, Edward Pickering, published her findings UNDER HIS NAME. Later, Shapley used her findings to determine distances around the Milky Way w/o credit.

Leavitt’s work is still used today. Next time you hear about famous men in #science share her story. #HistoryRemix

I found out much too late that one could just mass-block every advertiser from your feed, and then Twitter was generally ad-free. But now I don't wanna go back even without ads.

@andymci It's my understanding that most if not all of these exist. I saw it on an amazing fancy graphic from a couple-a days ago, showing a graphic of all of the Fediverse sites. But I'm having problem finding it at the moment.

There's a Facebook app, a Youtube app, a Mastodon, write.as for writing, an events app, etc. Basically, any social app can hook up to the Fediverse protocols.

Unfortunate email from eBay. You remember when I told #eBay multiple times about this obvious #fraud - by email, chat, phone call, and clicking the cancel button a bunch of times?

Ebay does not care. They made a buck. They are also refusing to cancel my account that I didn't set up.
