Je voulais demander à des amies de quitter Twitter pour venir sur Mastodon. Selon moi les outils du genre #fedifinder #movetodon #Twitodon #debirdify sont la meilleure chose pour que ça marche. Le.viens de découvrir que cet outil ( https://www.sky-follower-bridge.dev/fr/ ) existe pour Bluesky. Ne serait il pas possible d'en recréer pour Mastodon? Enfin, si ça existe, je suis preneur. 😉

@Enithka Hm, ik weet het niet. Vroeger had je tools zoals #Debirdify en kon je gemakkelijk je netwerk hier opbouwen, maar die zijn nu allemaal geblokkeerd op X.

Außerdem habe ich jetzt Lust ein Feature zum Export der Blocklist zu bauen. Wie es #Debirdify schon hatte. Mal schauen, ob ich morgen die Energie dazu habe.

Asking because I'm not sure if it's still doable or not but... Is there a way to comb through following/followers on Twitter to find others that have Mastodon accounts? I used to use #Debirdify and #fedifinder but they both seem to be permanently down.

Would love to see if anyone new popped in anywhere but I follow way too many to check manually.

As we're in the midst of another migration wave and this times sites reliant on the #twitter #API like #movetodon and #debirdify no longer work, remember it's massively more important than ever to boost posts and hashtag everything, stumbling across people you followed on the bird site is going to be harder than ever for new arrivals.

@nomatic @FediFinder I don't see how that violates GDPR. I can maybe see an anti-trust angle, but I don't really know anything about law.

Personally I'd be surprised if there were a law that mandates free (or cheap) API access for third parties.

Banning #Movetodon and #Debirdify without explanation and without responding to inquiries was an unfair move from Twitter for sure (although probably not illegal), but since Twitter has been announcing that they would shut down all API access for everyone anyway I think it would be hard to pursue that angle anyway.

Wondering if there is something like #fedifinder or #debirdify but for finding #Facebook friends on Mastodon. Or does anyone have any tips for quickly finding FB friends here some other way?

#mastadonetiquette question: what are some helpful hints for reposting events / notices from Twitter over here? Love if more local community orgs to start posting to #mastodon, but often a chicken and egg problem with not enough engagement.

Ich habe das Tool #Debirdify entwickelt und da wurde der API-Zugang vor einem Monate "suspended", angeblich wegen eines Regelverstoßes und ich hätte deshalb eine E-Mail bekommen.

Nur: Ich habe keine E-Mail bekommen und trotz mehrmaliger Nachfrage hat der Twitter-Support nicht reagiert.

It's just that they suspended #Movetodon and #Debirdify (without giving a reason) but not #Fedifinder (not yet at least).

@luca 10k GET sounds like absurdly few, especially for $100/month. That's 300 a day.

For something like #Debirdify that would mean something like 100 users a day. Maximum I ever saw was 20k users a day. So even for a tiny experiment like Debirdify this would be much, much too little.

Am I missing something or is it really that bad an offer?

It didn't at first when I tested it today, but after seeing that the old version (https://fedifinder-v1.glitch.me/) works, I gave it another try and it went through. Down to 538 from 617 accounts. Will have to look into what happened with the rest (deleted?).

#Debirdify sadly got suspended by Twitter last week.
