Based on that photo's exposure I think you have more shutters speed to play with though f/6.3 isn't ideal based on the lighting. I certainly wouldn't go below 1/800. It's gonna be grainy but your photo has no grain in it. I think you've got room for that too. But you'll need to have a way to lighten the resulting photo and you may have to use noise reduction software or manually edit the sharpness and grain.

For indoor shots that orange or yellow cast is normal. I think it looks fine but it can be adjusted. Just a matter of adjusting temperature and tint. In Lightroom there are presets for tungsten, florescent, and flash lighting.

I don't consider that photo dark. Has it been edited cause actually the light is great.

But are you actually using 1/30sec? At 400mm the minimum shutter speed should be at least 800-1000 to compensate for shake and definitely for action shots.

Saw in theater in '82 @ 16yo. Didn't come out till to myself till '89. Was anxious about seeing it but it was so casually gay positive it had a lasting effect 🌈.

I don't know much about roses but the pictures for Altissimo look exactly like it and I think you're right 👍. It really is an amazing blood-red!

Some big ol' bushy geraniums in my friend's garden👇 .

Planted 2 wild geraniums in my garden 2 yrs ago but 1 struggled/the other "disappeared". The 1st is looking pretty good this yr & the other reappeared so I transplanted it to a better location.

Bright blue pickup truck in decent condition in a parking lot of an old auto repair shop.

A friend has these incredible crimson roses in his garden. The photo doesn't really do the color justice. Love seeing them every year and they're so prolific that I can usually find one in excellent condition.

Golden sunrise over a marina of sailboats tied up on the water. The steamy early morning temperatures add to the orange haze which has overtaken the once blue sky, reflecting the intense colors onto the water below where tall sailboat masts tower over the surroundings.

FYI, I don't know how dark "too dark" in this instance. Do you have an example. I intentionally underexpose my pics 2-3 stops all the time. Some are very dark. Also, if you edit the white balance that may help with the orange tint.
