When its wing covers are closed, they form a black triangle on the bottom of the wing tips, a thick black horizontal stripe that runs across the middle of each wing cover, and black diamond shape that runs from the end of the thorax down to the upper portion of the wing covers. They have a triangular head with black masking around their bulbous black compound eyes, two small black simple eyes on the top of its head, two long black segmented antennae, a long black straw-like proboscis, and six black segmented legs.

They produce long slender stems that end in a crown of lily-like flowers that extend along the upper stem and droop downward. In this case, the flowers have not yet opened and the flower buds are packed tightly together in overlapping diamond-shaped "scales" that is very similar in appearance to the head of an asparagus stalk (not surprising since they are in the Asparagaceae or asparagus family).

It's served: The screenshot shows a part of the garden. Countless ice droplets on birch twigs frame three bird feeders, spaced further apart than the picture suggests. The food in the two smaller feeders is barely enough for two days, while the large one lasts about a week. Blue tits, finches, sparrows, blackbirds, crossbills, robins, and others are enjoying themselves. Which enjoys me.
