Shout out to apple giving the iWork apps the worst names imaginable, because googling how to do something in an app called ānumbersā is basically impossible
That's very exciting!
This is a lot of the "magic" I try to teach to my team - your communication needs to reach your audience where they are (not where you are or where you want them to be) and you need to reduce the cognitive load for them to respond.
The only difference in my approach is that I try to have the question on line 1 with supporting context on lines 2+ when possible.

Apparently, protesters have started throwing glitter at ICE agents. You can picture the scene at home.
Agent's wife: Why do you have glitter all over you?
Agent (sweating anxiously): I ⦠I went to a strip club with the guys. And ⦠I got a lap dance from a stripper.
Wife: Huh. I guess that's OK then. For a moment I was worried that you'd started working for ICE.
I'm awake and ready to make that a problem. Happy Friday.
@oglaf I like this energy
Going through my notes on There Are No Accidents by Jessie Singer (@JessieSinger), and I figured I'd share them here as I process them.
This is a book about how our systemic decisions make America a dangerous place to live. It really made clear to me that Covid is nothing new. We've always been needlessly cavalier with each other's lives - especially the lives of the poorest and most marginalized among us.
You can get the book here: https://www.simonandschuster.com/books/There-Are-No-Accidents/Jessie-Singer/9781982129682

You may be right. They say cheetahs never prosper, but this guy seems to be doing ok...
That's because you were playing by the rules...
...but this guy's a cheetah.

I'll show myself out.

I still get a rush of adrenaline any time I hit shift-backspace because this meant "delete the entire line" on the TRS-80 command line.
Please share widely: I'm still looking for a postdoc in computational genomics to join my team in Oxford. If you want to help develop better ways to detect AML from epigenetic profiles in blood, then get in touch:
