(1/2) 37 years ago today I submitted my proposal for the World Wide Web 🎂. Today, Rosemary & I spoke with students in New Orleans at Walter Isaacson's Digital History Class at Tulane University. I was asked, as I often am, if I ever could have foreseen where we’d be today. I could not.

Jeg hadde en offentlig Google maps api kode som var tilgjengelig på et miniprosjekt i forbindelse med jobb, men står i mitt navn (og bankkort!). Trodde virkelig at den var så begrenset som mulig, men fant 4 Gemini forespørsler som jeg ikke har gjort.

Jeg fant en mail fra Google Cloud med påminnelse om handling som må tas i forbindelse med BigQuery, som jeg ikke bruker. Der står det at Gemini skrus på automatisk, og at ingen handling kreves hvis jeg ønsker det. Sendt 23.04.2025. #norsktut

❄️ Throwback to the best #barnfind location ever! Expédition Antarctique 1966 : The Belgian Sno-Cats

Three bright orange Tucker Sno-Cats remain in a Belgian barn after the 1966 Belgo-Dutch expedition to East Antarctica. While others are in museums, these were kept privately and left in this old barn.

The sides of the vehicles bear the Expédition Antarctique 1966 logo, reportedly designed by Tintin artist Hergé in 1957.

@Piraya Helt sykt hva folk kan gjøre, jeg burde ikke blitt overrasket. Det er lite rutine for sånt, men de som tar imot dyrene har nok heller det. Forferdelig hva folk kan finne på.

@Piraya Hvis det hjelper har jeg aldri hørt om eller vært borti den problemstillingen, kun mistet eller rømt hund på toget/stasjoner. Ikke en eneste gang på 16 år. Unntaket var en løskatt i Lodalen som sneik seg med et tog for mange år siden.

Jeg mener det er en avtale med et spesifikt selskap som håndtere dyr som er funnet uten eier, og mulig det varierer per politidistrikt. Det er som oftest vegvesenet/politi som ender opp med eierløse dyr, mener jeg.

Helt enig i resten altså.

@forteller Samme opplevelse, har en tro om at det er målgruppen mann voksen alder som blir bombardert med sånt. Og ikke basert på netthistorikk og sporing. Det har hjulpet å holde inne reklamen, og velge ikke interessert en 5-6 ganger.

This is one of our main cycling and walking routes (#8) and here we have a 5 km stretch with ZERO at-grade crossings with motor traffic. I repeat, it's physically impossible to meet any motor traffic here. So it is very peaceful, safe and comfortable to ride and walk completely uninterrupted. Just bliss.

@drgroftehauge My grandmother has used a Komp for several years, that I have admin rights for and rest of the family uses to keep in touch with her. It has a very simple interface which is one volume button to turn on, and the family uses an app to send messages, post pictures or video call. Might be of interest, the website name is www.komp.family.

@Mercerraa Pretty cool to see the «bandvogn» that looked like the same I got to ride with 15 years ago in the army, but Wikipedia tells me it’s a different version naturally. I’ll assume the rear car on Pompel is called Pilt (from an old Norwegian children’s tv show that induced nightmares on later generations).
