We do see many red-shouldered hawks in our area, but this one was in our NEIGHBORHOOD.

Often, when I see an unexpected visitor, I get over-excited and don't hold my camera steady enough to take a decent photo.

In this album, there were several mediocre shots. But in this photo, the beautifully mottled black-and-white wings of this bird echo the look of the pine cones above the bird. The bird's yellow feet stand out well and go nicely with the bird's yellow beak. And just look at the curve of this bird's shoulder!
