🎉 Just released #Annotorious v3.4, which brings a facelift to the drawing tools!
• Better contrast across backgrounds
• Less intrusive handles
• Add and remove polygon corners with a click
@nichtich ha ha–I feel your pain.
FWIW: I feel it's an incredible timesaver for simple task & well trodded paths (on StackOverflow). Sometimes it's also useful for a quick discussion of pros and cons of particular architecture approaches. But confront it with a tricky problem, and you can literally see the point where it falls down a rabbit hole of broken code. (Interestingly, I found that once it starts hallucinating *a little* it quickly spirals out of control completely.)
Finally! @leaflet, the venerable lightweight JS tilemap display library, is gearing up for a 2.0.0 release! 🎉

I declare this bug squashed! Happy annotating everyone 😀
I'm currently investigating an odd issue on #liiive: sometimes, edits to an existing annotation get discarded when clicking "Save".
Not consistently reproducible. If you're seeing this issue, let me know! https://liiive.featurebase.app/en/p/issue-edits-dont-get-stored #heisenbug #concurrency
🚨 New #liiive feature: permanent rooms now publish live #IIIF manifests!
You can now view your annotation sessions in external IIIF viewers like Mirador, Theseus, or Universal Viewer—without the hassle of downloading and hosting manifests yourself.

https://github.com/daniel-j-h/zindex this little cloud-native spatial index made it into #WeeklyOSM 😍
With DuckDB-WASM spatial queries against a single static file are a thing!! What!! 😮

@coret Hey, cool–I wasn't aware. Looks like they uploaded today? Thanks for the shoutout. I'll start sharing... 🙂
Trying #liiive in our IIIF Workshop, thank you, @aboutgeo, for this interactive session :)

@DavidH wow–if there's ever a plan to do some enrichment of those, let's definitely connect about it. We're still ironing out the wrinkles on the library. But it's definitely ripe for some pilot challenges :-)
We've been working on a little library that might be useful if you work with #TEI and NER or text analysis:
• Extract plaintext from TEI
• Run your NER/NLP tools
• Map results back into the original TEI—without breaking anything!
Perfect for adding automated annotations to existing markup.

Wow so French and German government agencies are building a joint #opensource, self-hostable #GoogleDocs replacement. 😲
I would ofc prefer this being built by someone independent and *funded* by the public, but hell this does feel cool nevertheless:
#IMMARKUS update: our next release will complete the toolbox—bringing the full set of #computervision and #AI-powered drawing tools!
• Smart Scissors – trace edges, Photoshop-style.
• Edge Snap – snap to corners & lines for clean cutouts.
• Auto Select – smart one-click object selection.

@JubalBarca same reason I shut down my Github Sponsors a long time ago. You could also try SteadyHQ which is (sort of) an EU based alternative to Patreon.
