So my first full day with Linux Mint (Cinn-Wilma) installed and IT IS SO AMAZING on a very very slow connection to be able to:
1. stream radio
2. browse the Tubes of Inter
3. download those updates
ALL AT ONCE, on my teeny tiny bandwidth.
It's not perfect of course, but with Windows I'd have to stop using everything and only download updates, especially the large updates across multiple boxes and devices I have.

While I'm happy to keep writing and analyzing the news for free, I'm soliciting donations to help my elderly mother and my cancer-stricken stepfather stay housed. I'm doing okay myself, but because neither of them can work anymore and their pension doesn't cover the mortgage, I've been helping them out for a while now. If you have a #toddler , you don't have to wait until they're 4 to get the second #MMR #measles #vaccine ! You can get it done early, as long as it's been at least 28 days since the last dose.
We're taking our 2.5 year old in for their second dose on Thursday.
It's people born in the 60's that have to most likely get redone, and 70's are questionable.
Many insurances will cover the shot but NOT the bloodwork titer check.
I'm getting mine redone anyway becuase heck, it's the rest of your life.
If you are RUAL call ahead to the pharmacy and doc's office to make sure they have it available...many schedulers allow you to schedule things the pharmacy doesn't actually have!!

If you are RURAL in the USA and interested in getting up to date with vaccines:
Make sure to CALL THE PHARMACY before you schedule.
If you want am MMR vaccine (Measles/mumps/rubella) PLEASE START SCHEDULING NOW.
My local pharmacies do not carry MMR.
Even some doctors' offices do NOT carry MMR. You'll probably have to go to a pediatric clinic and wait a MONTH because they are busy.
Please start scheduling your MMR shot/series NOW.

Your Internet Service Provider (ISP) can see all of the web sites you visit.

Using Tor hides even which domains you visit. It's not a silver bullet (your ISP can see you went into the Tor network but cant see past that) but it can fit a specific threat model.
Using the operating system Tails - a version of Linux that pushes everything through Tor and doesnt save anything to your hard drive - can be a wonderful tool.
@Em0nM4stodon has written a comprehensive guide on what Tails is, how to use it and how not to use it.
