It has been a long process, I was diagnosed with ADHD in Italy at 6 but autism was not considered at the time. Also I was classified as high functioning and had not much support. My parents chose a non-medication approach for ADHD when I was little, but now I am both on medications and therapy and I am much happier.
Regarding autism, it is a huge weight lifting from my shoulders as I always knew there was something with me and now I know what it is.
Since I was a small child, I knew I was different and today it was officially confirmed that I am autistic.
