Mesa 25.0 just released with Vulkan 1.4 support in six drivers. Did you read that? SIX drivers! Of those, four have 1.4 conformance listed on the Khronos website.

How many conformant closed-source Vulkan 1.4 implementations are actually shipping? Maybe three. Yeah, over half the shipping Vulkan 1.4 implementations are in Mesa.

Today I learned two things: First is that VKD3D has a very nice test suite. Second is that NVK has bugs. 😅

I'm finally starting to get back to work after being off for most of the winter. (If you've been wondering why NVK has slowed to a halt, that's why.)

Yesterday and today, I took a look at Dragon Age: The Veilguard running on VKD3D-Proton. Last night, it was barely able to start and I got through some menus running at about 3 seconds per frame. As of this afternoon, it's running at 7 FPS. Not great but that's like 20x so I'll take it. 😁
