Whatever happened to that directive that uniformed Gardai do 30 minutes of road policing in every shift? Is it still happening?

What started as a quick check on why my front wheel was rubbing turned into a full scale service on both my front and rear brakes and wheel alignments. Now my back hurts. #BikeMaintenence
Yeah I guess my tyres really did need to be pumped up!

Hazel Chu has been selected to run in the next General Election for the Green Party in Dublin Bay South. She will be up against FIne Gael's James Geoghegan who hopes to regain the seat that Eoghan Murphy relinquished in 2021 and Fianna Fáil's Jim O'Callaghan, among others. There are even rumours that Senator Michael McDowell might also run.
If you would like to support Hazel's election bid and you are in a position to make a financial contribution you can do so here: https://gofund.me/1712b665
I said that I cycle every day regardless of the weather.
I sensed that they thought this was a pretty extreme thing to do, but it's really not. It's just a bit of rain. As the Dutch say, I'm not made of sugar!
Sure, my waterproof trousers are not actually that waterproof, so I sometimes get to the office a bit more soggy than I would prefer. But that's a failure of buying cheap poor standard outdoor wear, not a reason to leave the bike at home.

One of my colleagues asked me the other day if I had cycled to work. I was caught off guard, because I cycle every day, and I don't ever question not doing it. It's the way I get everywhere in the city.
They were asking because it was raining outside, which I'm guessing has the implied suggestion that cycling is something that people only do in good weather.

Traffic Lives Matter! 😂
Cycling to church this morning, and it was so cold that I needed gloves... in July! Even in Ireland that's pretty bad going.
Tiny detour on my commute to my nearest food bank so I could vote. The Tories made sure there were loads of them so everyone can do that, right?
@BrokenFlows I'm here for dog photos too! 🐕🐕🐕
If you're in the UK and you cycle to the polling station tomorrow, please send me a photo of your bike outside.

Oh, and don't forget to take your ID!
You might not like other types of bicycles. They might not be the style of bike you would choose to ride yourself. But we are a broad church, and we encompass and welcome all people and all types of cycling.

Critical Mass cycles pedal off in three cities this evening
Dublin Critical Mass, Belfast Critical Mass, and Waterford Social Cycle will all take place this evening, Friday, May 31st. Critical Mass events take place in cities around the world on the last Friday of the month. In more recent years, the events have brushed off their more radical protest feel into more of a celebration with music playing from speakers and the inclusion of children at many of the cycles.

There's been coverage in the press this week that the new regulations around electric bikes and scooters come into force on Monday.
However the limits for the power output and top speed for scooters seems to have been reduced.

#LE24 🗳️ Your regular reminder that anyone who is ordinarily resident in the State may vote in Ireland's local elections.
✅ You do not have to be an Irish citizen
✅ You must be ordinarily resident in the State
✅ You must be over 18 years of age
✅ You must live in the local electoral area
✅ You must be registered to vote (on the Register of Electors)
The election posters are up and it's now just one month to the local and European elections and one month until Limerick gets a directly elected mayor. After the referendums earlier this year I've given up trying to predict how the people will vote but the most important thing is that people do vote.
Make sure you are on the Register at https://www.checktheregister.ie/en-IE/
And remember you don't have to be an Irish citizen to vote in these elections.
Come join us Saturday May, 11 at 1pm📢
