I still don’t have the TRRS sockets to finish soldering this wired split #MechanicalKeyboard, so for now I’m testing it as two half keyboards and trying to find the best angles for the planned single piece follow up #ErgoMechKeyboard - here’s a cardboard prototype of a ~40 degree tended keyboard. It feels a bit too high up (could be lowered about 2cm), but usable…

Prototype ergonomic keyboard, two red PCBs with black key caps taped to a base made of cardboard. Each half is tented as about 40 degrees, and the pair have about 40 degrees between them. This photo is viewed from above as if looking down at the desk.Prototype ergonomic keyboard, two red PCBs with black key caps taped to a base made of cardboard. Launching their new social network, W, a group in the EU posted a map of where other social networks are hosted. It showed nothing in Europe.

But their map is wrong.

Here's what Mastodon actually looks like, and what the Fediverse as a whole actually looks like.

NewCrafts is taking a break and will be back in 2027.
After 10+ years of sharpening software craft, we're pausing to reflect on what craft means in the age of AI agents. Lower revenue in 2025 and the dramatically changed landscape for software development both played a part in this decision.
For our Paris community, in-person workshops continue. Looking for a conference in 2026? Consider DDD Europe in Antwerp this June.

I'd been looking for a modern, statically typed, functional language for years, and after using #GleamLang for about a year, I can say I've found it. Didn't expect it to be a BEAM language though!

Shout out to #OCaml, the current runner-up language and #RocLang which I'm looking forward to v0.1 of!

Here’s a hypothetical: let’s say you’re building a way to help verify a system using a grab bag of techniques (unit testing, SLIs, metrics, contract testing, …)

What’s the most *unusual* yet powerful thing you’d add? (Eg: TLA+ would count, so would trace testing)

I’m particularly curious in the weird stuff here. I know a lot of the space but I’m interested to know if there’s anything I haven’t seen yet :)

@gdinwiddie I once heard a theory from a friend that there wasn't a single person called "Shakespeare". Work attributed to him would be the creation of many. Could it be a similar situation ?

It still doesn't explain the many accounts and the follows but it's a starting point.
