i made a version of the famous 10 PRINT program with my gameboy stack-based language, and it runs great on real hardware! the language is very much still a work in progress, and neither this program nor the compiler are very efficient (bc i am a newcomer to both compilers *and* stack-based programming languages). but i am having a blast and learning a lot!

Watching Qotonana's new work "Calypso" build up in live view opens up a whole new experience. The meandering bubbles of creation that bloom and wither on screen are really quite beautiful (this is a view of #65).

The artwork is the creative process is the artwork.

"Pure Automatism Simulator" by Max Meir is visual art and process art. The graphical, colourful interfaces lead to abstract creations of strokes and splatters through user interaction, revealed only at the click of the canvas.

I like the contrast in style and colour between both layers.

@twilliability @hal09999 @D_VISION7 Thank you! I've really not paid much attention to digital art in the past months, and now thought I'd just share whatever happened to catch my attention first. Glad you enjoy it!

"'Uncle Run' Fun Park: Ferris Wheel" by Saran Wee (Uncle RUN) creates charming dioramas of ferris wheels. The choice of palettes makes them feel anywhere from nostalgic to silly.

"Complex Assemblies" by @hal09999 makes me feel like I'm witnessing the inner workings of a living cell, watching molecules and proteins do their thing.

New #GenerativeArt releases on #fxhash have been comparably sparse recently, which gave me the time to look at some of them before they got lost in a flood of new ones — even though I spent way less time on it than usual (and than I would have liked to, but that's life).

I didn't find the time to write about them, though, but at least put my favourite iterations into a deca gallery (a pity they don't (yet?) support base chain).

Zander Olsen
Tree, Line, Untitled (Cader)
2008

“In his ongoing series Tree, Line, Zander Olsen has constructed intriguing scenes where trees are wrapped in white material

Wrapped around, the white material lines up with either the horizon or the mountain range in the background creating a consistent look throughout the entire photograph. Because the white material creates such a perfect line, these photographs look almost unreal.

Trees with a mountain on the background. The trees are wrapper with White cloth exactly the same height as the mountain.

It's been out for a while, but still very happy to be one of the 100 artists featured in "Tracing the Line", the book about drawing machines and pen plotters. Get your copy at Vetro Editions

Mastodon hive mind, please work your magic!

I'm looking for recommendations on interesting YouTube channels that talk about videogames. Not streamers or such, but something more essay-lile, such as GMTK, DidYouKnowGaming, or NakeyJakey.

Thanks!

p.s.: boosts for wider visibility are greatly appreciate! 🥰

@antoniowerli Phew, I imagine a trans–atlantic move is a logistical nightmare! I hope you got all your stuff with you again.😅

@antoniowerli I hope the huge changes are good ones! I'm looking forward to seeing what will come out of this WIP.

I really love how my two iterations of "immiscible" by Geoffrey Crayon contrast with each other, yet also show their common generative process.
