What a nice surprise trying a #selfhosted instance of #MiroTalk SFU and finding how well it works.

MiroTalk is a Web-based videoconference system such as #Zoom, #Teams, or #Jitsi that I had not heard about until a couple of days ago. It seems to be based on #mediasoup to perform #WebRTC based SFU videoconferencing.

Its deployment is significantly simpler than Jitsi and it arguably seems to work better. It even has additional features like video recording and file sharing.

Zoom ne fonctionne pas correctement sur Fedora KDE Wayland.

Donc, j'envisage de retourner sur Mint et y paramétrer un bureau KDE Plasma 6 Wayland.

Vous croyez que ça peut le faire ou bien je vais encore me retrouver avec Zoom non fonctionnel ? (Ça fonctionnait parfaitement sur Mint en bureau X11)

Has anyone in #Canada bought, or considered buying the #Zoom #H5 #Studio #recorder? Selection certainly seems limited. So far as I can tell, its not on #Amazon Canada. And the buy now page on the Zoom corporate site doesn't actually appear to have a cart at all, or at least one that is visible to screen readers. And don't get caught in the trap of getting the Zoom H5 recorder without the Studio word included in the product name. Its not the correct recorder. But Amazon will happily point you in that direction and easily get you trapped in buying the wrong product. That's partly Zoom's fault too though. Its what happens when originality goes out the window, and a company has two distinctly different products called Zoom H5 and Zoom H5 Studio. At any rate, if you've read through all this rambling so far, the question is, who would you trust in Canada to buy this thing from? The only viable source I'm seeing is a camera supply company called Vistek.
