Wir setzen sonst auch #BBB (#BigBlueButton) als Videokonferenz-Tool ein. Aber dort ist bei etwa 20 Teilnehmern Schluss. #Zoom ist (leider) einfach mit Abstand das beste und leistungsfähigste Produkt. Es läuft aber eine Anfrage, ob man BBB auch professionell betreiben und für mehr Teilnehmer lizenziert bekommen kann.

Attackers Weaponize RMM Tools via Zoom, Meet, & Teams Lures

Netskope Threat Labs has identified multiple phishing campaigns exploiting video conference invitations from Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Google Meet. The attackers use fake meeting invites to trick users into downloading malicious payloads disguised as software updates. These payloads are actually legitimate, digitally signed remote monitoring and management (RMM) tools like Datto RMM, LogMeIn, or ScreenConnect. By leveraging these tools, attackers gain administrative remote access to victims' machines, potentially leading to data theft or further malware deployment. The campaigns use convincing phishing pages that mimic legitimate video conferencing platforms, exploiting users' urgency to join scheduled calls. This sophisticated approach allows attackers to bypass traditional security measures and establish a persistent foothold in corporate networks.

2/ Call links: In 2024 #Signal introduced the possibility to invite people to group calls via a simple link. No need for participants to be in a joint Signal group first or be even otherwise connected on Signal. Links a temporary, can be named, and there are raise-hands and other #videoconferencing features. With the exception of breakout rooms, Signal has become a real #Zoom #Jitsi replacement :)

„Wir sind seit längerem auf der Suche nach einer Alternative zu Zoom und haben schon viele Optionen probiert bzw. die Firmen kontaktiert. Leider war bisher nichts passendes dabei, meist scheitert es entweder an der Größe oder an der Dolmetsch-Funktion. „

Hmm, it seems the Zoom extension for Google Calendar for Firefox is broken and no longer adds a Zoom invite to my Google Calendar events.

Guess I'm back to using Google Meet until Zoom gets their act together.
