Searching for vids on the unrideable bike mentioned in the slides lead me to this video on why you can't ride a bike in 0 gravity https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rNQdSfgJDNM
@petergarner Nice to read your travel report of your cycling trip through the Netherlands and Belgium. Mostly familiar territory as a Dutch cyclist, but learned a thing or two.
Too bad the weather gods were not on tour side. I just came back from a six day cycling trip with friends in Belgium, Luxemburg and Germany with interesting weather too.
Experiencing landscape, food and culture on a bicycle with people you enjoy being with makes up for most of the weather.
@petergarner yes. That is not the charm that fits the history of the city. That is better during the yearly Dickens festival in December. Though the weather might be even worse than you had 🙂
@petergarner Nice. Perhaps a visit to the old city of Deventer along the IJssel river. Though it seems you already have a beautiful route planned out.
Enjoy your adventure!
@petergarner Hope you get the chance to see a bit more of the Dutch landscape. Though the city vibe of Utrecht is nice there are also beautiful areas just outside for cycling enthousiasts.
The lake area between Utrecht and Amsterdam for some nice vistas. It takes you to Amsterdam or in the direction of the flower fields and coastal region.
Or the Utrechtse Heuvelrug and Veluwe eastwards of Utrecht. A somewhat hilly forrest area. With the cities of Arnhem and Nijmegen on east side.
Enjoy!
@petergarner
Nice to read you are enjoying the cycling infrastructure and culture in Utrecht. Despite the unfortunate weather. Cycling along the Lek river is great.

An #ITU study https://www.itu.int/itu-d/reports/statistics/2024/11/10/ff24-internet-traffic/ reports that we transferred over 7 zettabytes of #Internet traffic in 2024. However, the authors do not describe what all those data actually were.
Therefore, I have performed extensive research to classify every byte, and I can now share this summary of the purposes of all the year's traffic.
Happy New Year!

@Sustainable2050 2024 seems to be heading for lower amount than 2023. Any clear reasons for that? Saturation of the market? Grid capacity? Change in financial incentives? Or is the second half of the year typically substantially higher?
