Skeena Indigenous is a family of indigenous-first fonts for North American languages using Latin-based orthographies, published by Microsoft under the Open Font License v1.1.
Read about the background of the project:
https://www.tiro.com/articles/skeena-indigenous
The latest build of the Skeena Indigenous fonts are available from the GitHub repo:
https://github.com/microsoft/Skeena-Indigenous-Typeface/releases/latest
Along with the fonts, source, and build tools, the repo provides extensive documentation about the decision making in the type design and font making, including discussion of unique features of indigenous language texts and how these are addressed.

Skeena Indigenous was designed with
Paul_Hanslow, based on our earlier work from 2018 and later Calibri-replacement candidate. The design was thoroughly reviewed and revised to give priority to the needs of indigenous languages.
We published a new book with research about the history of the Thai printing, and cognitive lab-based legibility study of traditional looped and modern loopless styles.. The book also showcases an extensive collection of Thai typefaces. https://www.typotheque.com/books/new-thai-type
The first batch of the newly released Typotheque Thai typeface collection consists of 23 type families. Within a few months we will release the remaining 27 families. Some of these will include both looped and loopless styles, so there will actually be more. https://www.typotheque.com/fonts/thai

Zed Icons comes as one variable font. If your project doesnβt support variable fonts, weβve developed tools that allow you to select your preferred style and generate new variants of your choice directly in your online account. https://www.typotheque.com/fonts/zed-icons
Working with the languages of the world means also engaging with the world and feeling both its joys and pains. After the unspeakable horrors in Lebanon and Gaza, we at TPTQ Arabic thought it was highly inappropriate to go about business as usual, and promote fonts. Read how Kristyan Sarkis sums the years of solidarity-driven pause.

Indigenous languages face digital challenges due to unique characters not supported by standard keyboards and encoding systems. Our recent collaboration with the Heiltsuk Nation aims to improve this. https://theconversation.com/why-is-it-so-hard-to-type-in-indigenous-languages-245247
For past two years, weβve worked on a set of new fonts for Ford Motors, supporting Latin, Cyrillic, Greek, Arabic, Thai, Chinese, Japanese and Korean. While the fonts will be used in the car interfaces only from 2026, they can be seen in marketing already. https://www.typotheque.com/blog/new-fonts-for-ford-motors
