Finding it very difficult to upgrade Moodle from 3.1 to 5.1 via 5 steps using git, upgrade.php and different versions of PHP for each version and different properties of databases. Super complex. Over the top. Phpmyadmin was much easier to upgrade with one zip file. Once PHP 8.4 was installed for WordPress 6.9 many other programs crashed or would not run so they have to be upgraded too. Too much dependency on properties of one language with features added and deprecated. Was the paper interested in solving problems, or just in collecting the engagement from pointing them out?
