News outlets really gotta stop qualifying people who get killed by the state.

“No criminal record” is irrelevant, because the state shouldn’t be killing *anyone.* Specifying this indicates that the writer thinks—and that the reader should think—that this detail makes a difference. It does not.

White folks in the U.S.: I encourage you to sit with the fact that this feeling you're feeling, that you could be gunned down by a cop for no reason without them facing any repercussions, is a feeling that every Black person living in the U.S. for the past 400 years has justifiably felt for their entire lives.
Resolve now that if we make it through with democracy intact, you will actively work toward a world where everyone can be free of that fear.

Some people have filters that you are bypassing by doing this. *I* have filters that you are bypassing. And before anyone tries to get snide, it isn’t because I’m “not political” or I have my head in the sand: it’s because I don’t use social media for news or politics. I am extremely aware of what is happening in the world and I need to maintain the energy to fight it.

I'm really tired of hearing terms like "digital detox".

We don't need to "detox" from digital. We need to wrest control of digital away from the capitalist oligarchs who have corrupted it into a torment nexus.

Things like student loan debt is great, because it puts workers into massive debt before going into the workforce, which gives capitalists leverage over us.

But really it doesn't go far enough. We should just be born with debt. Babies have been getting off scot-free for far too long.
