@circfruit TIL ... I had no idea that would work. Another thing you could do to publish messages the proper way is to install native meshtasticd and configure the lora radio as "sim" then you have a simulated node that can connect to mqtt and be sure all the encoding and encryption is correct. ... also a nice feature of the 2.6 firmware is that it supports UDP which means that all nodes on a network will magically see each other even without a Lora radio.

@circfruit It will not be easy using mosquitto_pub not even sure how you got it working on channel 0. You will need to encapsulate the message with the send text protobuf and encrypt it with the remote nodes public key.

My small contribution to the meshing-around project (github.com/SpudGunMan/meshing-) ... a game of hangman over #meshtastic .

I’ve been working on a fork of @dadecoza’s MeshInfo for PugetMesh. If you’re interested in #Meshtastic in the Puget Sound area, check it out. It shows chat messages, neighboring nodes, node details, and a mesh map.

I added mapping for message and traceroute propagation, who heard your chats, zero-hop neighbors, and more.

Check it out: meshinfo.gessaman.com/

PLHTML (Programming Language HTML) popped up on one of my social media feeds, and I do enjoy a good esolang so had to try it out by writing the classic fractals program ... gist.github.com/dadecoza/52e71 github.com/koce017/plhtml

This year I didn't enter @logiker 's Vintage Computing Christmas Challenge 2024 (#vccc2024), but after watching the results on his YouTube channel (youtube.com/watch?v=kJYbIC-14s), I couldn't help but to get out the #ZX81 and write some basic code. 🤓

@Sonic2k I had to go dig through the archives ... this tiny fm radio is under R10 and controlled via microcontroller ... that this little chip can do RF blows my mind!
