Hab heute nochmal einen sauberen Diskettensatz von Microsoft Word 6.0 für Windows 3.1 bekommen und erfolgreich ausgelesen und auch testweise installiert. Diesmal handelt es sich um die Update-Version aus dem Jahre 1993, die vor der Installation nach älteren Fassungen des Programms sucht. Meine Disketten von Winword 2.0b wurden zum Glück problemlos akzeptiert.

I just received and unpacked these two, beautiful 5.25 inch floppy disk drives. They seem to be in pretty decent condition, although I still need to test them. Not even sure about their capacity or specs.

I was this days old when I learned that there was a #floppyDisk puncher that converted 3,5 inch DD into HD disks.

Vor ein paar Tagen hatte ich auf eBay eine gut erhaltene große Schachtel mit Microsoft Word 6.0 für nur 10 Euro inkl. Versandkosten ersteigert. Mit dickem Handbuch, vielen Zusatzmaterialen und sämtlichen Disketten. Optisch alles in einem nahezu perfekten Zustand, v.a. die Disketten. Der Händler hatte das Paket allerdings deutlich gekennzeichnet als "DEFEKT" verkauft, weil er meinte, die Installation sei bei ihm im Emulator leider abgebrochen.

Heute wurde das Paket nun schließlich geliefert. Groß und schwer. Und bei mir ließen sich nun sämtliche 11 x 1.44MB HD-Datenträger sauber per KryoFlux auslesen ohne auch nur einen defekten Sektor. Die Installation unter Windows 3.1 hat dann auch - erwartungsgemäß - perfekt funktioniert. Seltsam aber "hurrah"!

Ja, ich weiß. Es ist nur ein doofes Textverarbeitsprogramm aus den 90ern. Trotzdem ist es schön, davon gute KryoFlux Streams zu haben. 😉

Came across this compact floppy disk on a second hsnd marketplace. It looks like the 3" diskettes used on the Amstead CPC 6128, but I'm not quite sure it's exactly the same. Bought it anyway, worst case it'll be one for the "odd media" collection.

It says M5 on the label. On the other side is C-5/B. The brand is Sord Computer Corporation. They had an M5 computer model, but that took regular 5.25" disks from what I can see...

Ufff... ich war gestern Nacht noch fleißig: Hier gibt's heute Morgen nun die frisch gesicherten 5 1/4 Zoll Diskettenabbilder der deutschsprachigen EGA-Fassung von Zak McKracken! Inklusive KryoFlux Streams und 300dpi Scans aller Datenträger. Einer der ganz großen Adventure Klassiker aus dem Jahre 1988. 😎

It took some work and careful cleaning, but in the end, I eventually managed to get good reads from these "Zak McKracken" diskettes. This is the German EGA version from 1988 for IBM-PC. 🙂
