Kennt ihr den Dell Wyse 3040? Ein winziger Computer, der nur um die 5 Watt Strom benötigt und für viele Aufgaben ein optimaler Mini-Server ist.

Ich habe mehrere davon im Einsatz, an mehreren Standorten, unter anderem als print server, VPN server und/oder beides. Er ist so klein, dass man ihn quasi überall leicht unterbringen kann, er ist lautlos, da passiv gekühlt und ich finde sein Design auch extrem cool.

Kurz die specs:

CPU: Intel Atom x5-Z8350 CPU @ 1.44GHz
RAM: 2 GB DDR3
SSD: 8 GB Flash
Anschlüsse: 2x DisplayPort, 1x USB-A 3.0, 3x USB-A 2.0, 1x Gb LAN, 1x Klinke
Abmessungen (BxHxT): 102x28x102mm

Das liest sich jetzt bescheiden, aber das Gerät ist leistungsstärker, als man glauben könnte. Debian lässt sich problemlos installieren darauf und ist auch mit ca. 220 MB RAM zufrieden im Betrieb (mit openvpn und samba print server am Laufen).

Mein Setup für andere Standorte als VPN server ist simpel, aber sehr praktisch:

* openvpn als VPN Server
* dynamischer DNS hostname via https://freedns.afraid.org/ (kann ich empfehlen!)

Damit ist gewährleistet, dass er immer erreichbar ist unter seiner aktuellen IP, auch wenn diese eine dynamische sein sollte.

Die Geräte sind echt lässig, meistens um ca. 25 € zu bekommen (willhaben, ebay, Kleinanzeigen) und sind IMO sehr verlässlich und zuverlässig. Große Empfehlung von mir!

This is _not_ how this should be done. OAuth is around since the fucking 2000s exactly to stop users from entering credentials on third-party sites! This is a disaster! Nobody should _ever_ do this!
