@Whiskeyomega @pgaskell just exported my information to an archive file but there are no CSVs contained in it. Does that mean I cannot import into your server?

The sunset this evening in Haworth wasn't too bad. I did use a Cokon P sunset filter to assist a little but at least no processing needed afterwards! This will probably be my last photo I post on Mastodon. (I took this image in Embsay this evening) . Apparently the home.social server is shutting down but I have decided not to move to another and let the account go. Thank you for all your support over the last 7months and wish you all the very best for the future, stay healthy and happy. (I am still on twitter and Instagram (for the moment)

@Whiskeyomega @pgaskell such a shame. That's the deciding factor in me not bothering to migrate and let the account lapse. I really hope developers can produce a user friendly experience in the future. There's definitely potential at the moment but still feels lile its stuck in beta testing

@pgaskell @Whiskeyomega problem is, I can migrate to another server but I lose all my posts and given shutting the old server is not my fault it feels really unfair that i should lose them. Personally I think mastodon should be centralised so that it's easy to manage data rather than flitting servers

@pgaskell @Whiskeyomega yes I can't disagree with thay though I have noticed a lot of political stuff on mastodon. If I'm completely honest I'm pretty disenfranchised with all SM platforms at this moment

@Whiskeyomega @pgaskell is there any way to migrate my previous posts onto a new server thougg? From what I've read that's not possible and, if not, is pretty shoddy and poor. I do hope I am wrong though !

@ed I do think a lot of work needs to be done on mastodon though, it still feels like an early beta version and if they can make some big improvements I'm sure it would attract more people onto the platform. I do hope that they do make improvements and make it user friendly

@Whiskeyomega @pgaskell one thing which is rather annoying and baffling is that if I do migrate to another server i lose all my precious posts and images! It's insane they can't be migrated across!

@Marjamjars I do sort of like mastodon but I wish it wasn't so clunky and user unfriendly. I think they need to work very hard on making it much better as at the moment it does feel like it's a beta version. If they do improve it and make it more user friendly I would probably rejoin.

@timdalton @anotherwest thanks so much Tim. If I'm honest I just find mastodon too clunky and user unfriendly and infuriating to use, even moving server is not simple! Apparently if I do move server all my media will be lost and have to start again, it's very bizarre
