Something that works for me is progressive muscle relaxation guided meditation. I have a good one I use a lot if anyone is interested. I’m big on meditation though because it makes my mind feel less cluttered.

100% this. Autistic adults exist and need resources too! I’ve had a hard time finding anything to help ND adults because everything is focused on children. It feels like we’re expected to “grow out of it” and become NT. The only help I can find for ADHD is time management apps, so instead I started bullet journaling. I have literally found nothing for adults with autism except things trying to make/help us behave NT.

Look at how you act daily. Think about what you do because that's how "you should be", and then think of how you would act if you were 100% yourself.

I was tipped off that there may be a section meeting soon because the higher ups see how toxic it is. I’ve reported everything to both pieces of my work (I’m a contractor, so I reported to both by contracting company, and to the place I physically work in) and hopefully things will start getting better soon. It’s just been an awful experience outside of the actual work itself.

I hate talking on the phone in my personal life, but a large part of my job is answering the phone. I’m getting through it by making certain scripts. People normally call for the same handful of things, so having a normal script for each thing has worked well. I normally don’t deviate because then I get tongue tied and unsure.

I really understand that. I feel it can sometimes be disadvantageous to my social life, but I would rather do things the right way as opposed to the quick way. I’ve always done better in life with more structure and been happier when I followed the rules.

social situations. I really want to legally change it so I don’t have to constantly hear and see my old one legally referring to me. All in all, I’m still transitioning and I first came out online January 20th, 2016. I just changed my name socially last year and have only had two jobs where I am only referred to by coworkers as Walter, even if on paper that isn’t my name. In the future I’d also love to get top surgery, because I’m transmasc nonbinary. (2)

I’m going to be a stereotype, but I found out on Tumblr. I thought I was a trans man in high school, but I pushed it away till I was 20 or 21. My friend at the time said she thought I might be nonbinary after hearing me describe it, and showed me Tumblr with different gender identities. For a while I felt like changing my pronouns would be too much for everyone, but I went to therapy and found that it was a necessity for me. Later I also changed my name in (1)

If any #trans or #enby folxs out there had stories to share about your egg cracking ,(figuring out your gender) especially if it was a long or drawn out process id love to hear them.

(Had a day if going back and forth about whether or not im deluding myself in even trying. The versions of yall in my head were very good at dissuading me of that notion with kindness)

@shiri 100% true. I’m proud because -I’m nonbinary-, not because I’m part of the community, for example. The community is a welcome and enjoyable part of it, but if there’s no community I’d still hold my status as nonbinary closely and as an integral part of my identity and being. I really just assumed everyone thought like that: you are who you are outside of others, because you aren’t your surroundings.
