Do you have a running or sports watch that is running out of battery? I am uk based and offer watch battery replacement and button fettling as a service, to keep them out of landfill.
I know that Garmin has excellent customer service, but some people want to keep their existing watches going for longer.
I use quality components from reputable suppliers, get in touch if you want to discuss
@NanoRaptor I like the meta of these replies. There's ambiguity in the question (what counts as a disease? How specific is the button?) and the responses mostly make different assumptions about how to resolve that ambiguity. And some responses highlight the ambiguity either by explaining their assumptions or specifically asking questions about it. (I like the "explaining their assumptions" ones best.)
In addition to the in-person protests, we need a strong musical protest movement, like back in the '60s, to inspire and drive change. Just heard this song today, on listener-supported WEXTradio.org. If you are aware of other new original protest songs, please share in the comments. I've heard plenty of humorous paradies, but not much emotional original music.

@GrumpyBun Josh Ritter has several. This one (“Some Kind of Dream”) is maybe the most obvious: https://youtu.be/-1rrETw5elw but also “The Torch Committee” https://youtu.be/XSdU_ZDF9Ok or “The Gospel of Mary” https://youtu.be/0t86OHD2wUE and probably others.
@LilahTovMoon you sent me down a John Irving Wikipedia rabbit hole
@Colarusso I’m so jealous. At some point in grad school some reminiscing with classmates led to an afternoon launch session at the athletic fields (we were computer scientists, not rocket scientists). One of my favorite memories of grad school and the last time I launched. 🚀
@gbhnews Specifically mentioned Fediverse engagement in my donation comment. (I agree there should be a fedi share button but I guess those are provided by the campaign platform, which is not GBH.)
@BonehouseWasps oh, and Lumberjanes. Don’t forget Lumberjanes.
@BonehouseWasps I’ve got two like that. Third vote for Nimona. Check, Please is definitely fun and in the Heartstopper vein. Also Katie O’Neill (the Tea Dragon trilogy, The Moth Keeper, A Song for You and I), and Kay Davault (Oddity Woods, Misfit Mansion). There’s a good graphic novel of Rainbow Rowell’s “Fangirl.” And maybe take them to B&N or a local bookstore with a deep manga section and pay attention to what they look at.
@enby_of_the_apocalypse @Byronrabbit plus Chive is still awfully cute even when she’s stubborn and grumpy
Seeking a role as staff software engineer with backend focus!
I would love to work on highly available large-scale distributed systems, digging deep into complex problems.

Chive resents being burritoed (and is getting pretty good at subverting it), but if she would cooperate with her Critical Care (or just eat her regular food again) she wouldn’t need it. #rabbitsOfMastodon
@lauren @fiend_unpleasant @ai6yr I am not Lauren's vintage but I am a software professional with 30+ years of experience using Unix, and my last Ubuntu installation still required an hour or so of research and troubleshooting to get WiFi functioning (a dealbreaker for people without my resources). I still don't have the camera functioning. So... let me put Lauren's point another way: the existence of Linux is not an excuse for the shittiness of Windows.
@evacide the bunny I took to the emergency vet last Wednesday hates being syringe-fed so much she ate some of her regular food this morning. #rabbitsOfMastodon
I don't know why we're pretending this is complicated. ICE wears masks because we all saw what happened at Nuremburg when the Gestapo didn't.
That's it.
@michelestrider It's early yet, but idk if any option will win against cats on Al Gore's Internet.
@gbhnews If you can grow the tea, I have bergamot in my backyard that I haven't killed yet; we could make Earl Grey!
lol, apparently machine-learning systems have serious trouble decoding human morse code? self-clocked, sloppy human timing, full of local slang & abbrevs, and not much of a real life training corpus
so learn morse to dodge the panopticon for a while
