Over the years, I've enjoyed convos w/ fiscal conservative students taking classes in which we read Marx, Du Bois & Robin Kelley. When I teach their work, I ask students to work at understanding their ideas: that is not at all the same thing as forcing them to adopt those ideas. @LowlyAdjunct Truly. It's wild. I spend a lot more time with their work than I used to. And I find that so many opt to write a lot more than they would in classes I taught uses traditional assessment methods.
