I'm a Software Engineer, working daily on backends, but in my free time I like to delve into everything, from CLIs to frontend. I am also really passionate about #privacy, #CyberSecurity, #Linux, #RustLang and everything #gaming.

Other interests I have are: #science, #art, #space, #languages, #solarpunk, #music and more things I fail to remember. Feels like there's always something else to research and/or be passionate about, which I love doing!

Using "AI" is no longer optional at Microsoft. Reminds me how when Meta had to force their engineers to use their "Metaverse" product.

If your product doesn't even gain traction internally, maybe it's just ... shit?

Coding is not the hard part of making software. People are the hard part of making software.

Therefore, computer science is a humanities study.

This meeting could have been a podcast 🎧 .

My conspiracy theory is that some people at work are
addicted to setting up meetings because no one listens to them at home, and they don't know how to start a podcast.

It's been 2 years since I made a desktop environment Tier List (I was waiting for a stable Cosmic release...), so I felt it was time to get this thing out, because things have moved quite a bit in terms of how desktops work, and how I feel about them.

So, here's my ranking, and why I ranked each desktop as high, or as low as I did:

My young-ish student care team, yesterday, said in no uncertain terms that LLMs are destroying their students' ability to experience and think and learn.

This is quite something, from a group that, even a year ago, believed that LLMs would do more good than harm.

I spoze I could pull a triumphant "I fucking told you", but I just find it so incredibly sad.
