Hi, just added the support for #comments on my #blog decodedhtml.com, I used the utteranc.es comment widget for having the commenting system. It uses #GitHub issues for making the comment. 🀯

I would love if someone having a GitHub account willing to give a #feedback comment.. πŸ’–

This #GSoC 2025, I made 3 proposals describing my implementation plan of the project idea under 3 different #opensource organizations on their projects.

I was not selected though, but working on these 3 large #OSS projects within a limited timeline once I learned about their announcement, I pushed myself to the limits.

I learned a lot, and I've talked about it in detail on my #blog #article, visit them from my portfolio website. #GoogleSummerOfCode

The wait is over. HTML for People is OUT NOW!

I feel strongly that anyone should be able to make a website with HTML if they want. This web book will teach you how to do just that. It doesn’t require any previous experience making websites or coding. I will cover everything you need to know to get started in an approachable and friendly way.

And it’s free for all. πŸš€

@amyegan Thank you, I'm going through all those discussions happening at the forum & github. Could you refer me to the point where it's best to share my portfolio page. πŸ˜ƒ

Also I might also need to introduce myself too there, isn't it. Feeling excited to be part of the community πŸ€πŸ€βœ¨βœ¨πŸ’«πŸ’«

@12dollargeneral that's a really cool idea πŸ€”πŸ€. I was inspired to learn #TailwindCSS for #webdev in a similar way, by a talk I attended at my hometown #Trivandrum #Kerala by one such #developer, Shruti Balasa from #twitter ( #X ).

The talk was at #FAYA in #Technopark, #Kazhakootam, #India (maybe almost a year back I believe, around the time I created my project #ReadSync). 🀍🀍✨

Also #NextJS by #Vercel had it built-in by default. Made it easy to redesign my portfolio πŸ€πŸ”— riojos.in/chakraui_devrel

@htmldecoder The site feels very joyful. I can tell you had fun building it!

The folks at vercel.community and github.com/vercel/next.js/disc are usually happy to give feedback. I'd share it there if you want more πŸ‘€

Hey #IndieWeb, just updated my website portfolio riojos.in/?utm_source=indieweb for improving my visibility as a #freelance web #developer & graphic #designerβœ¨βœ¨πŸ’«

I been working on it for almost 2 weeks now, did a lot of redesigning & development πŸ§‘β€πŸ’»

I've used #NextJS - a #ReactJS framework with #TailwindCSS & #ChakraUI. Even added some #shaders to give a cool effect.

Check it out, feel free to comments some feedbacks on the #fediverse 🀍🀍

@rolle There is some bad practices formed when using PHP. I switched over from PHP > JS > Rust.

Also an important fact is that Rust, is often widely known to be not friendly towards beginners.

I guess it really depends on how much you want to fight with the CPU to get something done

2023-07-16

@urbautz I have gone through the w3c recommendation, I'm thinking to rewrite my prototype project in #rustlang. It's currently just using vanilla #JavaScript (+ NodeJS), nothing else, (not even #TypeScipt).

I'm like won't using Rust, a bit too much?

2023-07-16

@rolle IMHO, for a beginner PHP is not right. But almost most of the time the first programming language developers start with is PHP.
I personally have issues with some people I learned PHP with, and they weren't even interested in programming. IDK

2023-07-16

@rolle yeah, I have gone through the #w3c resources. And I don't know why but I don't want to look at php code. Funny, considering I started with it.

Also, I swear I stumbled upon "Memento mori" yesterday 🀯

"Respice post te. Hominem te esse memento. Memento mori!"

Developers of the #fediverse how hard is it to integrate #ActivityPub protocol into an existing system?

I have an #opensource project (now archived) which just had a sign in page and list of all users to interact with.

Interesting to see the rise of ChatGPT-enabled Github spam.

The screenshots below are from one account, but if you search a bit it's very easy to find other examples.

Github doesn't appear to be on top of this at all, e.g., the account mentioned in github.com/swarna1101/VeChain- has been spamming repos since last year and hasn't been banned (I reported a bad account that was generating abusive spam once and got some autoresponse and then nothing happened and haven't bothered reporting since then).

FYI, @KennethCho-CKH appears to be a fake user submitting GPT spam.

I don't know who you are, but stop targeting me and flooding my email inbox. This could be seen as cyberbullying. You think I am a spammer, but in reality, you are the real spammer. At least I put effort into the AI prompt to generate some code that people can refer to, whereas you do absolutely nothing to contribute to the community. put down the keyboard and get a life.

I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to reach out to you regarding my recent pull request to your repository. I have made several improvements to the code, which I believe would benefit the project as a whole.

Firstly, I have included unit tests, added try-catch blocks, and simplified the multimap-by function to enhance the code's reliability and prevent potential errors. I also have added docstrings to make the code more understandable and easier to navigate.

Moreover, I have used a threaded ->> macro to simplify the code and replace the println statement with proper logging to improve the code's readability. Finally, I have enhanced the code's modularity and conciseness, making it more maintainable and easier to modify in the future.

I believe that these changes would greatly improve the project's overall quality, and I would be honored if you could review my pull request and consider accepting it. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Here you just delay printing warnings, adding extra data structure that’s passed between widths and its call site. That’s one more thing to keep in mind, which makes it harder to follow

Giving name to #{"0" 0 1200} is good. I would’ve move it inside the function with let, though, to keep everything local

I think java will fail and die on trying to open file anyway, giving you adequate enough exception. But the code remains simple
...What is path-seq? Did you use ChatGPT to generate this path?

...

Why would you suppress exception like this? It is kind of important

...

ZoneId/UTC does not exist. Is this really ChatGPT? Have you even run this code?

...

I did a review, but overall quality is very bad, sorry. Code uses non-existing functions, which indicates you didn’t even run it, and probably generated it with ChatGPT? KennethCho-CKH commented Mar 25, 2023

I made several changes to improve the code:

Defined constants for file names to make the code more maintainable.
Used with statements to ensure files are closed properly when deleting them.
Used pathlib consistently throughout the code for better readability and to avoid errors.
Added comments to explain the purpose of the code and functions.
Reformatted the code to comply with PEP 8 style guidelines for better readability.
Moved the imports to the top of the file for better organization.

It would be very helpful if you could test the code I write, as I am not entirely certain if everything is working as it should.

It's necessary to add this path to ensure filescfg and _common are imported properly.

@scubbo Rust is built to make the developer write secure code. To do that, fast coding is something that is at the bottom of their priority list. Python is built for such task, imo

2023-04-12

@scubbo I think in the end, by making that choice everytime, you become more confident about your code. Inevitably making you write less vulnerable code and with less technical debt, atleast that's what most would perceive it to be.

2023-04-12

@scubbo well println is a macro that outputs to stdout. It's mostly considered as a side effect, we don't return it as a function output.

From a JavaScript perspective, I've learned you shouldn't use console.logs in production. Which is kind of dangerous and takes up resources. By dangerous I mean you reveal too much information about your code. And shows that you are not confident about the project. It's better to use VS Code's debugging features such as logpoints and auto-attach.

2023-04-12

@EndlessMason you are definitely in for a treat
