Darner Dragonfly

A large dragonfly warming itself in the early morning sun - I could hear the wings vibrating as it warmed up.

The left eye had been damaged, and you can see an indentation in the photo.

Taken in the North Woods of Wisconsin, I'm not even going to try and guess at the species.
