Interested in #bikeability and #walkability assessment?
Have you heard of NetAScore?

Our new article in "Environment and Planning B" introduces the #opensource software NetAScore for segment-based bikeability and walkability using #OSM data:

Thank you to all co-authors and everyone who supported our research and software development!

Just publihsed! Our latest #paper in #cycling #mobility #research.
It presents and evaluates the open and adjustable #bikeability index available in the #opensource software #NetAScore: doi.org/10.1016/j.jcmr.2024.10

Thank you to everyone who participated in the online survey or joined our workshop at last year's #CRBAM conference!

@pettter The given categories are a generalization, hiding quite some detail. Still, they are successfully applied in cycling research for many years and give an indication of the level of stress a person is accepting in cycling traffic. So please feel free to choose the level of stress you would commonly accept in your daily trips by bike - even if it varies between trips etc.

With some delay we posted a short #throwback to the #GIScience conference and our visit to @nerdsitu in Copenhagen last month, on the blog of the Mobility Lab with @just_mobility and @gicycle mobilitylab.zgis.at/en/mobilit

@nerdsitu
Thank you for inviting us! It was a very inspiring day and we hope we can follow up on one or the other idea together.

Today Lucas van der Meer & Christian Werner @just_mobility visited us from Salzburg, showing us their awesome research+tools on spatial networks and sustainable mobility, like NetAScore github.com/plus-mobilitylab/ne !

Betweenness Centrality in Spatial Networks: Our latest publication is available online at doi.org/10.4230/LIPIcs.GIScien.

We analysed how #spatial density of nodes influences betweenness #centrality and provide a generic method for mitigating these effects. #SpatialCentrality

Looking forward to presenting and discussing our findings next Wednesday at #GIScience2023 conference.
#reproducibility: find data and code at doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.8125632

Just had a very inspiring first day at #VeloCity conference in #Leipzig!

With important topics such as how to improve #equity in #mobility. More technical: the potential of open data for better infrastructure. Thank you @ane for sharing insights on reproducible evaluation of network data quality!

And if you missed our overview on assessing bikeability and walkability from #OSM data: you find our open source software on github.com/plus-mobilitylab/ne

Looking forward to the upcoming sessions!

@rcarto thank you! Routing was done based on an o-d matrix with igraph in Python. Currently I'm also trying NetworkX for the routing part.

Sometimes it's good to be reminded why #spatial #network analysis matters...
