A short break in Zadar
Kornati National Park In order to see the consultant in timely fashion about instigating disease modifying treatment for the Crohn’s, I had little choice but to cancel a 5 night trip to Bilbao. To compensate, I booked a 4 night trip to Zadar, Croatia, and I just returned home this morning. Zadar Staying in the Old Town, my accommodation was a simple but practical room at the…

April in Amsterdam
Amsterdam Aside from the easy opportunity to have a crazy head trip of hearing bar-goers reciting prayers, Amsterdam is an ace destination. No better time than spring when the famous tulips are in bloom, and the trees are in blossom. I was fortunate to get 6 days of blue skies. Hotel Arena Day 1 Aer Lingus brought me over on an early morning flight, the journey being not much more than an hour duration.

How am I now?
The most notable differences between then (let’s say a year back) and now are that all 4 limbs have grown weaker with intrusive constant prickly paraesthesia in all limb extremities. This has begun in more recent times, the past two months.its both unpleasant and very disabling. I think the average person can possibly imagine this as there’s no one element out of the ordinary experience, only that it all coincides in one blow-out disability.

At sea again and it’s rough
Though not quite as bad as this! Today I skipped self-service breakfast & lunch as the ship is being battered by the open seas and stayed in my cabin. We are heading down south to the sheltered and deeply cleft fjords. Itinerary: Santiago to Buenos Aires There’s a lot of rough sea days on this itinerary, but it is the price you pay for seeing a lot of remote and difficult to access areas.

Happy New Year from Ireland!
What an improvement with just 3 doses of gastro new meds!
As per my previous post from yesterday, my Gastro-Enterologist put me on new medications for my small bowel inflammation. Desperate for a chance to get out of pain I started taking them immediately. Was a little sceptical if my pain could be relieved, but it didn’t take long to get positive results! The Gastro-Enterologist is astute in his prescribing and always seems to be on the ball…
Neurology Clinic Visit
Yesterday I attended the public Neurology Clinic where I was seen by a neurology doctor and the Professor in charge. My overall medical picture had changed a lot since I last visited the clinic, with the onset of Crohns and dermatology symptoms. I had a thorough neuro examination, and then the doctor went through the findings of the Lumbar Puncture and Visual Evoked Potential tests I had undergone since last visit.
