I am back from the #ContinuousImprovementAwards ceremony in my company's headquarters. I got the chance to learn, firsthand, from many colleagues who presented their great improvement initiatives. It was a dense pack of new innovative ideas, positivity, and the urge to improve the status-quo.

I did not win any prize, but I won a special recognition from the jury and more importantly, I had insightful conversations with many colleagues, including in the highest management levels.

I think I have succeeded in showing the importance of our work and getting support from the organization. That's all what counts. ๐Ÿ˜€

As an embedded software developer at #Canon Production Printing, most of my daily decisions are technical. But some go beyond code. I often ask myself how to increase the impact of my work through non-technical means. How much time should I devote to pure development, and how much to promoting our results within the company? Although Iโ€™m deeply technical by nature, Iโ€™ve come to value the importance of sharing our work. Presenting innovations inspires colleagues, demonstrates how #embedded software drives business success, and helps our team gain visibility, resources, and strategic support from the management.

This year, we won first prize in the local #ContinuousImprovementAwards in Germany and were selected to present at the global event. This week, I travel to our headquarters in Venlo, Netherlands, to represent Germany.

I may be on stage this week, but trust me, Iโ€™m still very technical. ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ˜‰

It was a pleasure to supervise 5 young talents from @tu_muenchen during the TUM's 1000+ Project Week. I was fortunate to see them working on part of the challenge that I am currently working on as an employee in #Canon Production Printing. Seeing the student's curiosity and dedication to understand and solve the problem was heart-warming. I hope to have some of them as my colleagues in the future. ๐Ÿ˜€

Being a post-doc in #TUM myself in the past, I see how meaningful such activities can be for students, but also for professionals.

Photos and screenshots are from the LinkedIn account of my employer.

A successful week full of collaboration, creativity, and fresh ideas! During the TUM1000plus Project Week, we had the opportunity to work with talented students from the Technical University of Munich on an exciting challenge from our R&D Division.

But this week was about more than just solutions - it was a two-way exchange of knowledge and inspiration:

โœ… The students gained insights into our culture, our technology portfolio, and our business processes.
โœ… We, in turn, got to experience their unique skills, potential, and fresh perspectives up close.

Spending a full week together gave us a much better understanding of these young talents than a typical recruitment process ever could. And now, they return to TUM as ambassadors, sharing their experience with others.
A big thank you to everyone who made this week such a success! Your dedication and enthusiasm made all the difference. Weโ€™re excited to continue creating opportunities like this, building strong partnerships with universities and empowering the next generation of innovators.A photo of 5 young male students (right) standing next to 4 Canon male employees (left) in a big hall with a huge Canon banner of a natural scene in the background. Hello Mastodon, again :)

You can think of this post as an #introduction, though I am a Mastodon user since 2017.

I made this account to share professional and work-related posts while not promoting centralized platforms ๐Ÿ˜€.

I think #Fediverse is the current best solution for social networking in general, so why not use it as a platform for professional and work-related stuff instead of closed silos like #LinkedIn?
