I think it might explain the problems that LLMs are causing. We are confusing talking with thinking.

The jackboots are on the ground, marching to inflict the most damage on those they other. They are disappearing people en masse for their skin color. They are arresting & assassinating electeds, then demonizing the other side for being murderous. They lie straight to our faces and say they have a mandate. They loot the coffers of government and steal data for blackmail. All the checkboxes have been checked, and yet we are all staying quiet. Hoping that the angel of death passes us by, I guess.

I find the amount of not talking in every day life about the orwellian surge in fascism in the United States very chilling. It is has slipped past the doorstep, we are past the rubicon of hoping it will just go away. More than discomfort will be had due to remaining silent than speaking freely with family, coworkers, friends, acquaintances, neighbors, etc.

It is nuts to me that in the US, you can be removed from jury selection because you oppose life sentences. It is a bit of a thorny subject but it seems that neither position is impartial, despite only one being positioned as such. Support for life sentences seems to favor the state. How is that giving a person innocent until proven guilty a weighted balance. Primarily, incarceration should be about rehabilitation.

Persimmons are in the ebony family, Ebenaceae, a family known for its dense heartwood. The wood is very dark and heavy, great for woodworking.

Headphone jacks are cool tech and totally not moribund. They open user agency in a way that bluetooth simply does not. No advocating against bluetooth as a tool, it has its places, but a dedicated analog jack is fantastic and a great standard for everyday devices. Don't let manufacturers convince you that its exclusion is anything but greed and predatory.
