@mcc i’m a fan on the other side of this: olafur arnalds has done a lot of very fascinating modern classical-inspired post-rock-ish work, such as his 2010 album “…and they have escaped the weight of darkness”

https://olafurarnalds.bandcamp.com/track/tungli

(from which this is track three, “tunglið”)

i’ve really enjoyed the gentle emotions that his music engenders, from gentle melancholy to pensive contemplation. in some ways, his work wouldn’t feel out of place in a soundtrack for a makoto shinkai film.

Liberux NEXX Linux phone with RK3588S and 32GB RAM hits Indiegogo

Over the past few years a number of companies including Pine64 and Purism have released smartphones designed to run mobile operating systems based on a mainline Linux kernel. But the Liberux NEXX is a work-in-progress Linux phone that could be the most powerful to date… if it actually makes it to mass production.

First introduced earlier this year, the NEXX features a 6.34 inch, 2400 x […]

Android & iOS aren't the only mobile OS's that support the Fediverse - UbuntuTouch also has native webapps available in its Open Store app store for Mastodon & Pixelfed :)

@poetaster heh. So I got all 47 voices of braids running clean with proper cv tracking and freed up 10 HP. Still, nice to have the multiples out. Now to get them alk 'up'.

@flypig It's nice to see you don't pick the low hanging fruit. Like me :-(

dev diary day 78. After a bit of a break I'm getting back on track with my daily dev diary. Today, it's all about animations and transitions.

It's nice -- somehow reassuring -- to be back working on this again.

Okay I'm going to make one of these aluminum shims to try out this desoldering technique. Seems pretty rad!

What I'm listening to today: "Four", Nils Frahm and Ólafur Arnalds

Nils Frahm is an artist with whom I am Much Enamored, whose thing mostly is he records albums where all he does is play the piano softly and it's incredibly gripping. Occasionally though Nils dabbles in Electronic Instrumentation and gorgeous ambient music results.

@samuelFRDE it's kind of oddball and not linux only, but sunvox stands out for me... I have a qtracker box, frozen in time that works well. But, frankly, I build hardware for my needs because even the apple route cost too much TIME. But, I also often play multiple instruments in a session and just need good overhead mikes...

Ah, just go for the cherry style switches :-)

In theory, you can simply connect a small piece of copper to the pin/ground connections, but you want adc then and not digital pins, so I'm not sure the esp (?) will do.... Hmmmm

Did you want to get pcbs or all DIY...

@vacuumbeef ok, got ya, but just do both :-) cap sense could be 3mm wide strips of copper tape in front of the button.... I do a lot of supercollider stuff with controllers, but not for melody. I have a piano, rhodes and my modular rig is a niftykeys, so I've split my practice.

@oleksiy well, a lot of people use 0HP to mean, does not fit in rack. That thing I made is 3U and 2HP. How about {X}HP , $HP or ?HP ...?... I'm going to get some boards made as gift items for modules that sell...

@vacuumbeef you might consider capacitive sense instead oh on/off buttons. Then you can approximate something like velocity....
