"The study showed Gollum-like behaviours such as data hoarding, idea theft, and blocked access to resources are rampant', Valdez told Times Higher Education, noting 'this phenomenon disproportionately impacts early-career researchers and marginalised groups, pushing some out of academia altogether'."

People like to push the idea that progressive policies will follow failed government. They said the same thing about the Arab Spring. And about 8-8-88 in in Burma/Myanmar. This idea that the public at large will suddenly wake up and care about the common person has no basis in reality. It will take generations of quality education and stable familial relationships to make that happen. And it will take baby steps to get to where that starts. Caring does not start with observing tyranny.

@kevinrns @qurlyjoe What also gets me is that with employees like me to have a lot of medical cost, or I have to fork over a small fortune for essential care, my employer is paying their share as well. One would think businesses would be in favor of healthcare reform as a matter of basic business essentials.

Finally listening to #MaríaDueñas's #Paganini album. Not the best rendition of the 24 Caprices I've heard, but an interesting interpretation.
